Garden Tour Saturday, June 7th – Read all about it!

Garden Tour set for Saturday, June 7th

The annual Friends of Noe Valley Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 10am to 4pm. Ten private gardens are open that day for you to see with 4 of the gardens side by side sharing fences. This year the gardens featured include a Zen garden, a palm garden, a drought tolerant garden, an outdoor room, an artist’s garden, a garden for entertaining, a vegetable and chicken garden, and a garden enhanced with found objects. Also on the tour, and back by popular demand, is a container gardening demonstration all day from 10am to 4pm, conducted by Charmain Giuliani at the On Lok Senior Center located on 30th Street.

The Garden Tour theme this year is “Secret Gardens”.  Ticket prices are $18-Adult, $15-Senior. You can also volunteer to be a Garden Greeter and receive a FREE ticket. Garden Greeters take a shift at one of the gardens to welcome visitors, check for tickets and sell tickets as need be. To volunteer, send an email to LindaLockyer3@gmail.com. Shifts are 9:30am-12noon, 12noon-2pm and 2-4pm.

You can buy tickets on Saturday mornings at the Noe Valley Farmers Market on 24th Street. Tickets come with a map and guide. Merchants selling tickets include Cliché Noe Gifts, Hortica, Independent Nature Garden Store, Just For Fun, Olive This Olive That, Omnivore Books on Food, Folio Books, Rabat Shoes and Small Frys. Proceeds from the garden tour are donated each year towards neighborhood beautification projects. This year’s beneficiary is the 22nd Street Jungle Stairs Project. You can read about this community project at junglestairs.wordpress.com.

So mark your calendar, buy your tickets, lace up your walking shoes and get ready to see gorgeous, good-looking, grand gardens on Saturday, June 7th. AND everyone who checks in at all 11 gardens gets to vote for Noe’s Favorite Garden. See you there!

Online Ticket Sales are now closed. Please purchase tickets at participating merchants or at the Noe Valley Farmers Market on Saturday, June 7 from 9am-12pm.
