You are invited to nominate your garden to be on the annual Noe Valley Garden Tour. The Tour is held in May to show off the neighborhood and raise funds for Noe Valley beautification projects. Home gardeners are encouraged. Most gardens last year were owner designed and maintained.
A garden can be of any kind. It doesn’t even have to be yours – nominate a friend’s. Tour stops have ranged from flowers to vegetables, English cottage gardens to Chinese in stone and gravel. Accepted gardens can offer something new or merely be drop dead gorgeous. Last year we had bees. Before that, a sensory garden. Do you specialize in orchids? Is your garden on a rooftop? We are interested in everything.
Who are we? We are the Events Committee of the Friends of Noe Valley, your neighborhood association. We organize neighborhood events like the recent Music in the Park and the upcoming Noe Valley Words Week.
Just a few rules. The gardens must be in Noe Valley – Guerrero on the east, 30th Street on the south, 21st Street on the north and Grand View and Diamond Heights Blvd. on the west. There must be public access, not through your house. Inspections will start in January.
Two other things. If you’d like to help organize the Garden Tour, there’s plenty to do! If you have a beautication project to suggest, the Friends of Noe Valley Board will gladly consider it. The rules are the same – it must within Noe Valley and have public access.
